O Henry was a well-known American writer.His stories are known for their surprise endings.
The last book I read was » Two presents ». This story is about Bella and her husband Jim. They were very poor but they loved each other very much. They wanted to buy Christmas presents to each other but they had no money. Bella decided to sell her hair and bought present for her husband. Her hair was really remarkable. It reached before her knee. She went to barbershop and sold her hair for 20 dollars and bought a platinum chain for Jim’s watch. In the evening when her husband came home she gave her present to him. Suddenly Jim took out a package from his coat. There was a beautiful comb for Bella. They couldn’t live through Christmas without giving each other presents.
» My hair grows awfully fast,Jim,darling»said Bella. Jim kissed her and said » Lets put our Christmas presents away.They are too nice to use them just now «.
I like this story story very much because presents were not important for this beautiful couple. They loved each other so much that they couldn’t live without doing nice things and making happier each other.
